Kodak Print Full Review:

Sign up with Kodak was easy. The upload process installs a small active X applet. Selecting images and the upload were painless. However, Kodak doesn’t indicate what the print size requirements are prior to upload. Make sure you check the Express upload option. It’s not 2 times as fast; it’s 10 times as fast. As each picture is uploaded it disappears from the screen letting you know it’s done.

Very nice editing features including crop, red eye, rotate, flip and an instant fix option. The instant fix button cleaned up some of my photos quite well. There’s an undo button so if you don’t like the changes just hit the undo button. If you get to a point where you want to start over, just click the revert to original button. Piece of cake!

Other options include applying effects like black & white, sepia, tinting and artistic. The available artistic effects weren’t very good. But what the heck, aren’t your photos good enough?

Kodak provides an extensive online help page. I was impressed with the number of topics and the quality of information under each topic. Their online help is great!

Your free photo size is 4” X 6”. There are many other sizes available but will cost you.

There’s an extensive list of items on which you can put your photos. These include: digital photo frames, calendars, T-shirts, ties, greeting cards, puzzles, playing cards, stickers, blankets, mouse pads, mugs, photo books and posters. Wow! What a selection of gifts! They even have a picture framing service. You don’t even have to go to the store to pick out a frame!

If you want to upload images from your cell phone, Kodak requires a paid subscription of $24.99 per year or $2.99 per month.

Kodak print resolution is about 155 pixels per inch. For a 4” X 6” print you’ll want to size your images to 960 pixels by 620 pixels before you upload. Otherwise you may have to crop them in a way that you don’t like.

Shipping options include 3-10 days, 2 days or overnight. Naturally, the 2 day and overnight options cost more.

I received my prints within 4 days. The cost for shipping was $2.15. As you might expect from Kodak, the pictures were very nice. Both the color shots and black and white prints looked great.

Overall the process was easy with some decent editing tools and image adjustment capabilities. Kodak, the recognized image!
